This online business loan calculator estimates the monthly payment, total interest and total repaid on a fixed-rate business loan from its amount, rate and term. Slatebend Business Capital, a small-business funding broker in Cleveland, Tennessee, provides it for Bradley County owners as an arithmetic check only, not an offer or a forecast of terms.
What to enter
- Amount: the sum you would borrow.
- Rate: the annual interest rate on an offer, or a figure you want to test.
- Term: the count of monthly payments, for example 24 or 60.
The result shows three numbers: the monthly payment, the total interest over the term and the total repaid, which is all payments added together.
How a Business Loan Gets Paid Back
On a fully amortizing loan, each monthly payment is the same, and each one covers that month's interest plus some principal. Interest takes the larger share early; principal takes over later. The calculator assumes exactly that shape. Business term loans explains amortization and covenants in more detail.
A check on the arithmetic
To test the method only, try a hypothetical $25,000 at a 0 percent rate over 50 months: the payment is $500, total interest is $0 and the total repaid is $25,000. Any rate above zero raises the payment, the interest and the total. The figure is a math check, not an indication of any offer.
How much would a business loan cost? Adding the rest by hand
- Fees: origination, documentation or closing fees are not included. Add these to the total repaid yourself.
- Weekly or daily payments: the calculator works monthly. For a weekly schedule, multiply the weekly payment by the number of payments and compare that total.
- A balloon: if an offer ends with a lump sum, the calculator does not model it.
- Merchant cash advances: an advance is not a loan and has no interest rate. Multiply the advance by its factor rate for the total collected.
Compare offers on the total paid over the whole deal, not on the monthly payment alone.
Why Bradley County, TN stores run these numbers
Retail had 378 employer establishments in Bradley County in 2023, and 45.0 percent of them had fewer than five employees (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). In a store that size, one monthly payment can equal a week of sales, so checking it before signing matters. Stock purchases can be structured differently; inventory financing explains how. Illustrative arithmetic only. Rates and terms are set by a lending partner, not by this page.
